Start Your Meditation Practice

4 Week Series: Creating New Habits

Starting Saturday, January 26, 2019
10-11am

The word “meditation” is increasingly coming up in conversations from spirituality to politics, always suggesting everyone can benefit from this practice of mindful awareness.  Maybe it seems like a major commitment, maybe it seems too far out there, maybe it seems like a waste of time….maybe, however, you’re curious but don’t know where to begin.

This could be just the right place and time for you to start your meditation practice.  Come find out what it is, why people do it, demystify the practice and learn how to do it yourself.

If you think you can’t meditate, that you’re too busy, too active, can’t sit still long enough, I encourage you to consider those ideas you’ve formed of yourself and then possibly try something new.

Here are some things you can expect in this 4 week series-

  • A short questionnaire upon registration to help me get to know you and to inform the course syllabus

  • Discussion of what meditation is, benefits of practicing, how it relates to Yoga & why it is an important practice for everyone

  • Exploring a variety of concentration practices that can lead to meditation

  • Practice sitting still in various positions

  • Looking a the many ways we can fit our practice into our day

  • Group interaction!

    Each week will bring opportunity for questions, sharing experiences and feedback that will inform the coming classes

  • Homework!

    Nothing mandatory but always recommended; each class will end with a suggested practice for you to work into your days to help the process of creating new habits and patterns.

  • Communication with me before, between & after classes;

Pre-registration is required; in signing up, you’ll receive a short form to gather info about you to help me design our meetings to work for everyone in the class. I’ll also be checking in throughout the series and available for questions as they come up.
